Learn To Skate - Figure Skating
Snowplow Sam 1-4
Specialty Class - Power/Edge

The Snowplow Sam levels are introductory classes divided into four progressive levels allowing young skaters with no prior skating experience to build confidence while learning the basic skills of skating in a fun and safe environment. These classes are intended or beginners age 6 and under.

Classes are provided one time per week on your selected day/time for 8 consecutive weeks unless noted. The date selected will be your first day of classes. Class prices include 8 weeks of instruction on the chosen day of the week as well as skate rental. Class sessions will be 30 minutes of instructional time and 10 minutes of independent practice.

Snowplow Sam 1: This class is for young beginners with no prior skating experience. Elements include proper falling and recovery, balancing and marching.
Snowplow Sam 2:This class is for young skaters who have progressed from Snowplow Sam 1. Elements include forward skating, dip while moving, backward wiggles, forward swizzles and beginning snowplow stop.
Snowplow Sam 3:This class is for young skaters who have progressed from Snowplow Sam 2. Elements include forward skating, one-foot glides, forward swizzles, backward swizzles, backward 2-foot glides, and moving forward snowplow stop.
Snowplow Sam 4:This class is for young skaters who have progressed from Snowplow Sam 3. Elements include advanced forward skating, advanced one-foot glides, advanced backward swizzles, rocking horse, two foot turns in place and two-foot hops.

Basic Figure Skating 1-4
Specialty Class - Power/Edge
The Basic Skills teaches the fundamentals of ice skating and provides the best foundation for recreational skating, figure skating and hockey. Six progressive levels introduce forward and backward skating, crossovers, stops, edges, and turns. Skaters will progress at their own rate and advance as skills are mastered.

Classes are provided one time per week on your selected day/time for 8 consecutive weeks unless noted. The date selected will be your first day of classes. Class prices include 8 weeks of instruction on the chosen day of the week as well as skate rental. Class sessions will be 30 minutes of instructional time and 10 minutes of independent practice.

Basic 1:This class is for skaters with no prior skating experience. Elements include proper way to fall and get up, marching, two-foot glides, dips, forward swizzles, and backward wiggles.
Basic 2:This class is for skaters who have mastered Basic 1. Elements include scooter pushes, forward one-foot glides, backward swizzles, backward two-foot glides, two foot turns in place, rocking horse and moving snowplow stop.
Basic 3:This class is for skaters who have mastered Basic 2. Elements include forward pumps, forward stroking, beginning backward 1-foot glides, Backward snowplow stop, forward slalom, moving two-foot turns.
Basic 4:This class is for skaters who have mastered Basic 3. Elements include forward crossovers, forward edges on the circle, backward pumps on circle, backward one-foot glides, beginning two-foot spin.

Basic 6:This class is for skaters who have mastered Basic 5. Elements include forward mohawks, forward inside three-turns, two-foot turn moving backward to forward, backward stroking, beginning one foot spin, t-stops, bunny hop, and forward spiral.

Freeskate Pre-6

Pre-Freeskate:This class is for skaters who have mastered all Basic levels and have progressed from Basic 6. Elements include backward crossovers to a backward outside edge glide (landing position), Backward outside edge to forward outside edge transition on circle, mohawk step sequence, one foot spin, mazurka jump, waltz jump.
Freeskate 1:This class is for skaters who have mastered Pre Freeskate. Elements include forward power stroking, basic forward outside and forward inside consecutive edges, backward outside three-turn, upright spin from back crossover entry, half flip and toe loop.
Freeskate 2:This class is for skaters who have mastered Freeskate 1. Elements include alternating forward and outside spirals on a continuous axis, basic backward outside and backward inside consecutive edges, backward inside three-turns, beginning back spin, half lutz jump, salchow jump.
Freeskate 3:This class is for skaters who have mastered Freeskate 2. Elements include alternating backward crossovers to back outside edges, alternating mohawk sequence, waltz three-turns, advanced back spin with free leg in crossed position, loop jump, waltz jump toe-loop jump or salchow toe-loop jump.
Freeskate 4:This class is for those skaters who have mastered Freeskate 3. Elements include forward power three-turns, forward upright spin to backward upright spin, sit spin, half loop jump, flip jump.
Freeskate 5:This class is for those skaters who have mastered Freeskate 4. Elements include backward power three-turns, five step mohawk sequence, camel spin, waltz jump loop jump combo, lutz jump.
Freeskate 6:This class is for those skaters who have mastered Freeskate 5. Elements include forward power pulls, choreographic step sequence, camel-sit spin, layback spin, waltz jump half loop salchow jump sequence, beginning axel.

Parent/Tot Ice Explorers
Specialty Class - Power/Edge

This class is designed for skaters under the age of four, or any skater who is not ready to be in class by themselves. The child will be accompanied by one parent or guardian and together they will learn the basics of skating.

Teen/Adult Figure Skating
Specialty Class - Power/Edge
It is never too late to learn how to skate! The Teen/adult class is designed for both beginning and experienced teen and adult skaters who wish to improve their skating skills. Participation in the program will help promote physical fitness and improve balance and coordination while teaching proper skating techniques. No prior skating experience required!

Specialty Class - Jump/Spin
Specialty Class - Power/Edge

This is a fun class designed focus on improving jump and spin techniques. Jump work will include correct take off, proper edge usage, air position, alignment, and controlled landing positions on various jumps. Spin work will include basic spin development, spin variations, centering and increasing speed and rotations. Skaters must have passed Pre-Freeskate level to enroll in this class.

This is a fun class designed to focus on speed, strength, conditioning, control and edge quality. Tuesday Classes are for low power individuals in Basic 3, 4, 5, 6 or Pre-Freeskate.
Friday Class Skaters must have passed Pre-Freeskate level to enroll in this class.
